Turmeric Jasmine Rice

Turmeric Jasmine Rice

Ingredients:
  • 150g Jasmine rice
  • 450ml water
  • ½ teaspoon Nivartana turmeric
  • ½ Nivartana cinnamon stick
  • 1 Nivartana mace (or freshly grated nutmeg)
  • A handful of raisins
  • Salt to taste
Instructions:

1.Rinse the rice  

   Rinse the rice at least three times thoroughly until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch.

2.Add water and spices  

   Add 450ml of water to a pot and add turmeric, salt, mace, and the cinnamon stick. Mix everything well.

3.Cook the rice 

   Add the washed rice to the pot and bring it to a boil over medium heat (level 5). Let it cook for about 10 minutes, until the water is almost completely absorbed.

4.Steam the rice  

   Stir the rice briefly, then cover the pot. Reduce the heat to level 2 and let the rice steam for another 5 minutes.

5.Add the raisins 

   Remove the pot from the heat and add the raisins. Stir everything well so the raisins swell in the warm rice.

6.Serve 

   The rice should now be aromatic and flavorful. You can serve it right away and enjoy!
